Before standard HDDs and online gaming became the norm, one black box changed everything. The original Xbox was a PC in disguise, a beast of industrial design, and the birthplace of Halo.
Today, we honor that history by keeping these machines alive. We don’t just dust them off; we rebuild them better than Microsoft ever could.
The Scene in 2026
The Original Xbox is more powerful today than it was at launch. Here is what we do at Jason’s Mods:
- Insignia Live 1.0: Xbox Live is back. We set up your console to play Halo 2, Crimson Skies, and Counter-Strike online against players around the world.
- Stellar HDMI: Crystal clear, pixel-perfect digital video output. No more fuzzy composite cables. Play in 720p/1080i on your modern OLED.
- Massive Storage: We install Cerbios-ready 1TB to 16TB hard drives. Store the entire North American library on a single console.
The Mod Shop
We buy used consoles and sell fully restored, modded units.
